you are never alone

every morning as i prepare for the day, i like to turn on LDS talks to get my day started off right. today was no different. this morning, i listened to a talk by sister carole stephens, a first counselor in the relief society general presidency.

in it, she spoke of healing. one particular quote stood out to me:

"Sisters, I testify that—You don’t have to continue to carry the burden of sorrow caused by sin—alone. You don’t have to carry the pain caused by the unrighteous actions of others—alone. You don’t have to experience the painful realities of mortality—alone."

too often, i try and be strong, stronger than i should/can be. i try to take too much on.

i also have a lot of pain in my life, mental illness, stress of school, marital strife, the usual mortal ailments.

but i was reminded this morning that i don't have to be alone. Jesus Christ, my Savior, is always here. as my favorite primary song says:

"He is always near me//though I do not see Him there//and because he loves me dearly I am in His watchful care."

i add my witness that Jesus Christ is real, He loves us, and he will always come to our aid.
